General Quotation and Payment Terms
Please note that the quotation provided is only a cost estimate based on the information you or an appointed person from your organization provides. If this is your first time using our services, we may require 100% payment (or a portion) before starting the job. Returning clients may also be asked to pay a deposit.
Disclaimer for Windscreens and Framed Glass
- Windscreens: Ensure all visible chips are sealed at least one day before we work on the windscreen. We are not liable for cracks resulting from chips, whether seen or unseen.
- Framed Glass Panels and Fish Tanks: Scratches or marks within 25mm of the edge will remain unpolished, as attempting to polish these areas may damage the frame or crack the glass.
Residential or Commercial Glass Services
We polish windows, doors, shopfronts, balustrades, and shower enclosures (framed or frameless). Please note:
- For framed glass, scratches or water stains within 20-30mm of the edges will remain unpolished due to the risk of damaging the frame or cracking the glass, which is fragile near the edges.
- Our technicians are not permitted to attempt removal of such scratches to avoid potential glass cracking. Glass Polishing SA will not be responsible for any resulting damage unless it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that the breakage was due to technician negligence.
- For high-reach panels (over 3m above ground), clients must provide safe high-reach equipment at their own expense.
Automotive Glass Scratches & Water Stains
We polish windscreens, side windows, rear screens, and headlights for all car models. Key points:
- Chip Sealing Requirement: All visible chips on windscreens must be sealed at least one day before we begin work. We are not liable for cracks resulting from chips, whether seen or unseen.
- Interior Glass: We do not polish the inside of fitted windscreens or rear screens.
- Quarter Back/Front Glass: For 100% restoration, the glass should be removed and worked on at a bench. Otherwise, scratches or water stains within 20-35mm of the edges will remain unpolished.
Windscreen Sandblast Services
Sandblasting comes with no guarantees, as some microchips may be too deep to remove. However, we can eliminate glare experienced when driving against the sun or at night. Note:
- Polished glass may retain white dots on the surface, which are microchips filled with our polishing compound. These may clear after several wash cycles.
Welding/Grinder Spatters
We offer a 70-100% guarantee on removing welding or grinder spatters, as some may be etched too deeply to clear fully. Additional details:
- Spatters within 30mm of the edges will remain uncleared unless the glass is frameless.
- Polished glass may show white dots (microchips filled with polishing compound), which may clear after several wash cycles.
Liability Disclaimer
In the unlikely event of glass cracking during our work, Glass Polishing SA will not be liable, as glass is inherently prone to breakage regardless of thickness. We reserve the right to refuse any glass with valid reasons.
